Lorenzo Mangili - Tribunale

Initially conceived as a barrier abutting on a sheer drop created by the pre-existing architecture, this work assumed the additional function of a comfortable bench facing the sun, preserving the design of the original brick terrace, consistently with the style of the main part of the villa.  Aside from its functional aspects, this work is fully infused with expressive power, giving life in the Montemarcello landscape (which is itself saturated with anthropical and historical meaning) to the elements that catalyze a narrative:  the minimal scenery refers to a primitive assembly (the judges’ benches, the dock for the accused…).
