Lorenzo Mangili - Malapoma

The title is a semantic pastiche.  Based on the combination of Latin and Italian lemmas (malus and pomum in the plural, that is, apples and fruit; male; all of which is declined in the feminine substantive desinence), it achieves a Baudelaire-like effect, associating the outcome of ecstasy and poison.  In effect, the installation (which recurs in material elements of the place, such as the pebbles in the Magra River and the white marble of the Carrara quarries) appears amidst the silver green of the olive trees like a lyrical site for meditation and offering to the domestic geniuses, but at the same time, as an inescapable reference to the Et in Arcadia ego of Poussin.
