This installation, composed around a central granite column that had previously been placed by the architect of the house several years before, is to be interpreted as a large “still life,” consentaneous with the silence of a roofless exedra, subject to the vagaries of the heavens.  The work is comprised of materials found on site, partially of ancient origin (the aforesaid column), partially invented (the bronze wing in the pavement, and partially recovered from current civilization (the slate with bolted brass construction leaning against the apse).  The juxtaposition has meditative implications in a neo-metaphysical direction.
