BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES:

Pietro Roccasalva was born in Modica (Province of Ragusa) in 1970. He moved from Sicily to Milan, where he currently works and lives. The solo shows that he has held and make him one of the most interesting artists of his generation include: GAMeC, Bergamo, Art: Concept, Paris (2007), My Private # 4, Turin (2006); Johnen+Schöttle, Cologne (2006); Fondazione Querini Stampalia, Venice (2006); Zero…, Milan (2005); Viafarini, Milan (2004). His group show participation has included: 53. Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte, Venice Biennale, Venice (2009); T2 Torino Triennale, Turin (2008); Italics. Alfredo Jaar was born in 1956 in Santiago, Chile and spent his childhood at Fort-de-France, Martinique. He studied architecture and film making in Santiago. He has lived and worked in New York since 1982. His work has been extensively exhibited worldwide. He has participated at the Venice Biennale (1986, 2007), São Paulo (1987, 1989), Sydney (1990), Gwangju (1995, 2000), Istanbul (1995), Johannesburg (1997), Seville (2006) and the Canary Islands (2006), and at Documenta, Kassel (1987 and 2002).
He has held one-man shows at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York (1992), Whitechapel Art Gallery in London (1992), Pergamon Museum in Berlin (1992), Museum of Contemporary Art di Chicago (1992), Moderna Museet in Stockholm (1994), MACRO Museo d’Arte Contemporanea in Rome (2005), Fundación Telefónica in Santiago de Chile (2006), Museé Cantonal des Beaux-Arts in Lausanne (2007), South London Gallery in London (2008) and Hangar Bicocca and Spazio Oberdan in Milan (2008).
In Italy between 2004 and 2005, he executed the Trilogia di Gramsci (“Gramsci Triology”), composed of Cella infinita (Galleria Lia Rumma, Milan), Che cento fiori sboccino (MACRO, Rome), Le ceneri di Gramsci (Studio Stefania Miscetti, Rome), and Prologo: Alla ricerca di Gramsci (Rome) and Epilogo: Estetica della Resistenza (Como).
He was Visiting Professor at the Advanced Course in Visual Arts offered by the Fondazione Antonio Ratti in 2005. He received the Guggenheim Fellowship in 1985 and the MacArthur Award in 2000. In 2006 he received the Extremadura a la Creación Prize in Spain. He has executed over fifty public works of art worldwide. Over thirty monographs have been published on his work.


Tiziana Priori was born in Cremona and over the last several decades she has participated in several solo and group shows in Italy and abroad, including: Arte e moda, Umanitaria, Milan (2000), Iridescenze, Palazzo Biumi, Varese (2003), Libri d''artista, published by J.
